my holiday weekend
well, it doesn't feel like the 'holidays' for me since I'm working this week at pretty much the same hours/days that I usually work whereas I remember those days back in school when the holidays were at least 2 weeks long and I would go/be at home or on vacation with my parents and bros/sis and the holidays were a vacation too.
This year, I stayed here in BC. Didn't travel back home to be with family since I had been back earlier this month already :P So I put up my little Christmas tree (mini version about 2 feet tall) with some ornaments/decorations and put my (few) Christmas presents under the tree. I opened my 1st present on Christmas Eve which was from my family (bro/sis) and they gave it to me when I was back at home in early Dec...they were prepared - kudos to them ;) Anyhow, the gift was a webcam - which is perfect cuz I set it up right away and we were video-chatting over skype and could see each other. I watched them open there presents. So cool! It was like I was right there with them back at home :)
Christmas here was very low-key and enjoyable. Boxing Day - had Dim Sum with my Uncle and cousin & cousin's gf. I really like Dim Sum. We went to Pink Pearl and it was so busy there. We got there at 11:45am and as we were arriving we could see hoards of people headed toward the main door as if it were a sports game or concert or something, so I walked a little faster to try and get in sooner. We only waited like 5 minutes for a table - the place is huge.
As for my "Boxing Day Shopping" - I had planned to wake up and go to the 6am Sales around town cuz there were some great deals, but knowing me, I knew it wouldn't happen. I'd rather sleep in a bit. I still got to a&b sound and bought a $20 mp3 player 512mb (1/2 price). I don't need anything fancy and have never had one...so this is a good deal for me :)
