C-Me in ON
I'm back for about 10 days at home now. Will be here until Feb 5. This weekend, I'll be taking a Facial Acupuncture course and next weekend it's an I.V. Parenteral refresher CE course. It's Chinese New Year this weekend and I predict I'll be eating lots! I've got some social meet ups lined up for next week and can't wait to meet up with good 'ol friends :) ...I miss my friends here.
And honestly, I haven't gone out there in BC to make new friends or consistently go to a church or join a small group or anything, so my social life is somewhat non-existent. I have acquaintences and old friends in BC that I've 'connected' with through email, but I haven't even phoned or met up with them in person yet in the time I've been there so far. So bad. For me though, I really think it takes time to build a community around oneself. I was in Toronto for 4 yrs and it took that whole time to build friendships...and some were built on the previous 4 yrs in Hamilton...so that's a total of 8 yrs in the making. I may seem like an 'extrovert' to many and in some ways I am, but in a new environment I'm more an 'introvert' and a 'superficial extrovert'. Once I get to know people, the 'extroverted nature' comes out and I ain't so quiet no more :D
