Grouse Grind; up the mountain we go!

Hiked up 'the grind' on Sunday afternoon for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. It's a 2.9 km vertical hiking trail, essentially up Grouse Mountain. What a hike...never did anything like it before! The first time hiking up was definitely more difficult, not knowing how long it would take or knowing the difficulty of the trail along the way. It took us 1hr45min the first time with frequent rest and water breaks and camera ('let's take a picture') breaks. Near the top of the mountain, there was still snow! My thighs were quite tired even though I felt okay cardio wise for most of the way...suprisingly, no sore legs the next day.

This past Sunday, we went up again in the afternoon. It's better to go in the afternoon cuz the 'experts' fly up the mountain in like 30-45min in the morning, so I hear. This time, it took 1hr23 min...shaved off 22 min! whew! There weren't as many breaks this time and my goal overall is 1hr, which is 15 min per quarter of the mountain, one step at a time!
