Long weekend relaxing.
No one's home. Well, except for me and the parents. All my siblings are away for the weekned. So since I was in TO Friday night, I decided to stay in res overnight. So I woke up when I felt like it, exercised (cardio on elliptical and some weights) for about 1 hr, showered, then went to Purple Rice for lunch. Pretty good asian food there. They serve 'pan asian' food - i.e. mix of various types of asian food like Thai, Malaysian, Singaporean, Cantonese/Chinese, Indian etc. Then after that, a few of us headed over to Gelato and I had some gelati ice cream again :) It was nice. It wasn't warm enough outside though, cuz after eating it, I was feeling kinda cold and sniffly. Anyhow, I warmed up soon after though. Then I went back to res and just chilled for a bit, and talked awhile with a good friend for a bit. That was nice. Then packed up and headed home for the rest of the weekend. I'm going to Dim Sum with the parents after church tomorrow. I like it better when the whole family goes...more fun, more variety food to order. I appreciate my brothers and sister more at times like this when they've all gone away for the weekend, and I'm home here as the only 'kid'...ah well...I guess we're 'growing up' and eventually we'll go our separate ways and have our own careers and families too, and it'll be different. I'll just enjoy being a 'kid' for now.
Today was a nice day just hanging out with friends, and enjoying the day without worries of having to go and study or something like that. I hope this coming year will be like that. I guess it's kinda like that with people who work, and don't work on weekends. They just enjoy the weekends, and not work, and for sure don't need to worry about studying and all that.
I've noticed that with different friends, the topics of conversations tend to certain topics everytime. Like with one friend, we almost always talk about school stuff, so much so that we both noticed it and said we have to STOP talking only about school and talk about other stuff in life - so I've had to consciously make myself not talk about school in those conversations - and it's actually quite nice to just talk about other stuff. With other friends, conversations may almost always tend toward world issues, or Christian matters, or marriage/weddings, or family, or friends, or boys/relationships, or just 'life' in a philosophical way...and some friends are more 'do stuff with' friends where you do activities or something in common. Then there are those friends we don't have to talk about anything really or do anything with; just sit there and say/do nothing which is much more than anything - just enjoying the presence of the company...now that's nice, though a rarity definitely.
